Spinal Tap Announce 'One Night Only' World TourApril 6, 2009
Spinal Tap have announced details of a 'One Night Only' world tour, which will take place in London.
The band will perform alongside The Folksmen at Wembley Arena on June 30th. The concert will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Spinal Tap's cult rock movie, The Is Spinal Tap. Lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel, the fictional character of Christopher Guest, said: “If we're going to do a World tour on only one night, at least it's this world." Michael McKean, who plays singer David Ivor St. Hubbins, said the show will be dedicated to “all of our drummers who have passed on, either to their reward or to middle management at Sainbury's”. As previously reported, the band recently began recording new material together, which will be released before the end of the year. Spinal Tap last performed together in 2007 at the Live Earth concert at London's Wembley Stadium. They are due to head out on a US tour later this month.
