Coldplay Back Campaign To Make '2 Minutes Silence' Number OneNovember 12, 2010
Coldplay have backed a campaign to get ‘2 Minutes Silence’ to number one on the UK singles chart.
The track, which has been released by the British Legion's Poppy Appeal, features nothing but silence. It is accompanied by a video featuring the likes of Thom Yorke, The Saturdays, Mark Ronson and prime minister David Cameron. On Thursday, the Official Charts Company said the song was on course to chart inside the top-20 at the weekend. In a message on their website, Coldplay said they were letting fans know about the track - and provided a download link. Proceeds from the single will help support serving & ex-serving troops and their families. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Coldplay's New Album Nearly Complete (30.03.2011)
