Three Priests Pen 1million Pound Record Deal

April 24, 2008
Three Priests Pen 1million Pound Record DealThree catholic priests in Northern Ireland have signed a record deal worth a whopping £1million.

The trio – 48-year-old Father Eugene O’Hagan, 45-year-old Father Martin O’Hagan and 44-year-old Father David Delargy – penned the deal with music giant SonyBMG at Westminster Cathedral yesterday (April 23).

The special contract has several 'get out clauses' so they can do their normal parish duties at home in Down and Connor, such as sermons, weddings and funerals, in favour of promotional work at any time.

Simply known as The Priests, the three sing entirely religious songs and aim to spread the message of God through their songs.

Father David told the BBC: "Singing is very much what we do. This is bringing it to a wider audience. We are singing sacred music, continuing what we have always been doing."

The priest continued that the first record he bought was Blondie’s ‘Parallel Lines.’
