The producer and super star DJ, who has worked with the likes of Black Eyed Peas and Akon, was approached by singer Bono about the collaboration.

"We met with Bono, and I was really excited, really honored because he proposed me to maybe produce some tracks for the next U2 album," he told MTV News.

Guetta, who comes from a more electronic background, said he wanted to challenge himself by working with the Irish band.

"I started a few ideas already, yes,” he added.

U2 are widely expected to release the follow-up to 2009's 'No Line On The Horizon' this year.
