Katy Perry went head-to-head with The Twilight Soundtrack at the People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles last night (January 5).

The singer beat Lady Gaga to take home the awards for Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Web Celebrity.

“I've had an incredible year," she told the audience at the awards ceremony, which is voted for by the public.

Sir Elton John presented Taylor Swift with the award for Best Country Artist, and the singer congratulated him one recently becoming a father.

Other awards went to stars from the big screen, with Twilight star Kristen Stewart collecting the award for Favourite Movie Actress.

The vampire franchise also won Favourite Movie and Favourite Drama, and stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were on hand to collect the awards.
