Lauryn Hill blasted fans after she arrived four hours late for a gig in Brooklyn last Tuesday (December 28).

The singer was due to arrive on stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg at 8pm but kept fans waiting until midnight, The New York Times reports.

However, despite being late, Hill apparently told fans that she was “worth the wait”.

“I spent my entire 20s sacrificing my life to give you love. So when I hear people complain, I don’t know what to tell you,” she told the audience.

Fans held up signs reading 'You Just Lost One' and 'This Is Insulting' to express their frustration.

Meanwhile, Hill has confirmed she is working on a long-awaited new studio album.
