The Cure are set to headline next year's Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight, it's been announced.

The event, which takes place at Robin Hill Country Park from September 8-11, will mark the band's only European date of 2011.

“We will do all we can to help make it a weekender to remember,” singer Robert Smith said.

Meanwhile, Primal Scream will also perform their classic album 'Screamadelica', while Beach Boys' Brian Wilson is also on the bill.

Other acts due to appear include Magnetic Man, Robyn, Crystal Castles, DJ Shadow, Katy B and A Trak.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now.
