Lady Gaga wore her controversial meat outfit at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles last night (September 12).

The singer, who first came under fire over the outfit earlier this month, appeared on stage in the dress as she collected the prize for Video Of The Year.

Accepting the award for ‘Bad Romance’ from Cher, Lady Gaga told the crowd: "Tonight, little monsters, we're the cool kids at the party.”

The singer was heavily criticised last week when she was pictured wearing a bikini version of the raw meat outfit on the front cover of a magazine.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga became the second-biggest winner in VMAs history as she took home eight awards last night.

The singer also picked up the prize for Best Collaboration for ‘Telephone’, which featured Beyonce.

In 1987, Peter Gabriel won 10 awards - nine of which were for the animated video to ‘Sledgehammer’.
