An autopsy into the death of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray has proved inconclusive. Gray’s body was found in a hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa by an employee on Monday (May 24). He was 38. 
Chew Lips and Dirty Vegas have been added to this year’s Global Gathering festival line-up. Both acts will perform on the Live Stage alongside Alex Metric, Drums of Death, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Scarlet Harlots. 
The Futureheads guitarist Ross Millard has revealed that the band are considering writing a musical. Millard said the group wanted to take a less conventional direction on their next album.

Gorillaz are to replace U2 as headliners on the opening night of this year’s Glastonbury festival. The band, fronted by Damon Albarn, will play the Pyramid Stage on June 25. 
Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody’s side-project Tired Pony have announced details about their second London gig. The show will take place at 11.15pm on July 14 at the Forum. The band have already sold-out an earlier gig at the venue on the same day. 
Gorillaz’ fictional member Murdoc has joked that it was only “us or the Beatles” who could replace U2 at Glastonbury. The cartoon band, fronted live by Damon Albarn, will play the Pyramid Stage on June 25 after the Irish group were forced to pull out. 
Klaxons have revealed that they scrapped an album’s worth of folk songs that they had been working on for a year. James Righton said the band axed the songs because they didn’t think they represented who they were. 
U2 guitarist The Edge has revealed that Bono could have suffered “serious and permanent damage” to his back had he not undergone recent surgery. The singer underwent an operation last Friday after feeling pain training for the band’s upcoming world tour.
