A song by Muse is to be released as the first single from the next instalment of The Twilight Saga. The track, entitled ‘Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)’, will debut on US radio on May 17. 
Liam Gallagher has reportedly bough the screen rights to a drug-addled book about The Beatles. Richard DiLello’s verbosely titled 1972 memoir 'The Longest Cocktail Party: An Insider’s Diary Of The Beatles, Their Million Dollar Apple Empire And Its Wild Rise And Fall' follows his time as a “house hippie” with The Beatles as a press officer at Apple. 
Thom Yorke's friend, the Green Party candidate Tony Juniper, has failed to be elected as an MP in Cambridge in the UK General Election. The Radiohead singer performed a one-off show at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in February to help fund Juniper's campaign to become the first Green Party Member of Parliament. 
Galllows will support Cypress Hill at their one-off show in London next month, it’s been announced. The hip-hop group are set to play Brixton Academy on June 15. 
Lady Gaga has criticised US TV network Fox after her performance on American Idol was edited before it was broadcast. The singer pre-recorded a ballad version of ‘Bad Romance’ and new single ‘Alejandro’ for the programme. 
Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has said they are due to begin recording their new album “in a few weeks”. Smith said the US band have been demoing material since last October and were now ready to enter the studio with producer Rick Rubin. 
Download Festival booker Andy Copping says he'd be happy to book Dizzee Rascal for the festival. The Live Nation promoter even says he'd re-book Lethal Bizzle at the festival despite the rapper being pelted by yoghurts at the rock event in 2008. 
Daft Punk were among the crowd as Two Door Cinema Club played their debut headline gig in America on Wednesday (May 4). Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and producer Rick Rubin were also present at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. 
Tiga and Zombie Nation have been added to the line-up for this summer’s L.E.D festival in London. Bloody Beetroots and Boy 8-Bit will also perform at the event, which takes place in Victoria Park from August 27-28.
