Rihanna has announced a UK arena tour for May 2010. Fresh from the release of 'Rated R' last month, the multi-million selling singer has unveiled an eight date jaunt. 
Smashing Pumpkin Billy Corgan is reportedly dating ditzy pop airhead Jessica Simpson. Simpson has been a friend of the 42-year-old rock star for some months now and tweeted in September “My friend, Billy Corgan, has a pure and enlightening outlook on faith.” 
Ellie Goudling has become the third female solo artist in a row to be named the winner of the BRITs 2010 Critics’ Choice Award. The 22-year-old singer from Hereford will now perform at the BRIT Awards launch at the IndigO2 on January 18 before picking up the award at the main ceremony at Earls Court, London on February 16. 
Daniel Powter's 'Bad Day' has been named as the one-hit wonder of the decade by Billboard magazine. The Canadian's huge 2005 smash hit stayed on the top spot in the US for five weeks, however his follow-up single 'Free Loop (One Night Stand)' failed to dent the top 30. 
Eminem has been named as the top selling artist of the 2000s in the US. The rapper has shifted over 32.3million units since the turn of the Millennium, securing him the record. 
La Roux's Elly Jackson has accused John & Edward of copying her quiff. The 21-year-old singer even reckons that the X Factor reject twins owe her money. 
Midlake are to release a limited edition 12” vinyl on Monday (December 14). It includes two tracks – 'Acts Of Man' and 'Rulers, Ruling All Things' – from the band's forthcoming album, 'The Courage Of Others'.

Vampire Weekend will play a free gig in London on February 3, it's been announced. The show, at the Relentless Garage, will follow the release of the band's second album 'Contra'. 
Bruce Springsteen has pledged his support to a gay marriage bill in his home state of New Jersey. Politicians are due to vote on the bill on Thursday, but Democrats fear it could fall short of the 21 votes needed to pass the Senate. 
MC Hammer has promised to teach Peter Crouch some new dance moves ahead of the World Cup in South Africa next summer. 28-year-old England striker Crouch debuted his infamous 'robot dance' after scoring a goal in a 3-1 win over Hungary in 2006, however, he recently gave it up. 
Travis Barker, drummer of Blink-182, has settled his lawsuit with the companies connected to a plane crash in South Carolina last year. Barker was one of two survivors of the September 2008 crash, which left four dead. DJ AM, who also survived, has since died of an accidental drugs overdose.
