Coldplay have made a surprise return to the studio to work with producer Brian Eno. The band, who recorded their recent number one album ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ with the producer, made the announcement on Twitter. 
US rapper Lil’ Wayne will release his first ever rock album on April 7th. ‘Rebirth’, the rapper’s seventh album, will be preceded by the single ‘Prom Queen’. 
US rapper Kanye West has told fans to call him Martin ‘Louis’ The King Jr. in future. In a short video message on his blog, West joked that he had been “forced” to adopt a new pseudonym following the launch of his new trainers for Louis Vuitton. 
White Lies have gone straight in at number one on the UK charts with their debut album ‘To Lose My Life’. The west-London band, tipped as one of Gigwise’s ones to watch in 2009, forced last week’s chart toppers The Script into third. 
Sir Paul McCartney is planning on asking his girlfriend Nancy Shevall to marry him, reports claim. The former Beatle has the green light to propose after Shevall's divorce from her former husband, lawyer Bruce Blakeman, was finalised. 
Robbie Williams will never rejoin Take That on a full-time basis, his manager has said. Williams triggered speculation about his future last month when he wrote on his website that he would “love” to rejoin the boy band. 
David Bowie's record label has refused to deny mounting speculation that the singer is working on a new album. Reports about Bowie's recording future surfaced last week following a mysterious post on the micro-blogging website Twitter. 
Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore has said the band want to perform at this year's Glastonbury festival. Moore said the festival was one of the two outdoor events in the UK that the wanted to attend. 
The Enemy have revealed that their second album will be called 'Music For The People'. Writing on the band's website, frontman Tom Clarke said the group had taken “a big step forward” with the follow-up to 2007's 'We'll live And Die In These Towns'. 
The Strokes' drummer Fab Moretti has revealed that the band have started work on their fourth album. Moretti told BBC 6Music that frontman Julian Casablancas was writing songs for the record, which will be the follow-up to 2006's 'First Impressions of Earth'. 
Radiohead, Sir Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake will all perform at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next month. Radiohead's appearance will mark the band's first live performance on US television since 2000. 
US rapper Kanye West posed for photos alongside Roxy Music's Bryan Ferry at Paris Fashion Week today (January 26th). The rapper, who arrived in the French capital last week to launch his trainer collaboration with Louis Vuitton, met Ferry following fashion house Lanvin's catwalk show.
