Lady Gaga Celebrates Proposition 8 Ruling With New Music

August 5, 2010
Lady Gaga Celebrates Proposition 8 Ruling With New MusicLady Gaga has revealed she celebrated the overturning of the controversial Proposition 8 ruling in California by writing new music.

The law, which banned same-sex marriage, was deemed unconstitutional by a US federal judge on Wednesday (August 4).

Lady Gaga told her followers on Twitter and Facebook that the decision was “just the beginning”.

Using a mixture of upper and lower case characters, she said: "At the moments notice of PROP 8 DEATH I instantly began to write music.

“BUBBLE DREAMS FOREVER! FULL EQUALITY! THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING! REJOICE and CELEBRATE gay communities and straight all over the world.

“Our voices are being heard! Loud! SCREAM LOUD AMERICANOS!"

Lady Gaga has been a prominent gay-rights supporters, and earlier this year defended a child who was sent hom from school for wearing a t-shirt which read: "I Heart Lady Gay Gay."

Backers of Proposition 8 have vowed to appear against yesterday's decision.
