Kanye West has become the latest musician to join the micro-blogging website Twitter.

The rapper confirmed the account @kanyewest was real by posting a link on his blog.

Despite only setting up the account three hours ago, West already has over 40,000 followers.

In one of his first tweets, he revealed that his forthcoming album was no longer entitled ‘Good Ass Job’.

As previously reported, the rapper previewed songs from the record at Facebook’s headquarters on Monday (July 27).

The follow-up to 2008’s ‘808s And Heartbreak’ is due to be released in the fall.
