Eminem Retains UK Album Chart Number OneJuly 26, 2010
Eminem has retained the top position on the UK album chart with ‘Recovery’.
The rapper’s latest album has now spent four of the last five weeks at number one. Professor Green, who held a webchat with Gigwise readers last week, was a new entry at number two with ‘Alive Til I’m Dead’. The only other new entry inside this week’s top ten was Earth Wind and Fire’s greatest hits collection, according to the Official Charts Company. Elsewhere, several artists nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize received a sales boost, including Mumford and Sons’ ‘Sigh No More’, which climbed to at number six. The xx’s self-titled debut jumped to number 16, while Laura Marling’s ‘I Speak Because I Can’ charted at number 63. In the singles countdown, Yolanda Be Cool vs D Cup claimed their number one with ‘We Speak No Americano’. (Gigwise) See also: Eminem To Release New EP With Royce Da 5'9'' (26.04.2011)
