U2 Boost Irish Economy With Huge Homecoming ShowsU2's three-night residency in Dublin, which concludes tonight, is expected to provide a 50 million euro boost to the city's economy.

The shows at Croke Park, which kicked off on Friday (July 24), marked the band's first return to their hometown since 2005.

Almost a quarter of a million tickets were made available for the gigs, with many hotels in the Irish capital reporting strong business from oversees fans.

"It's not just another show, for us or for the fans,” guitarist The Edge said.

“They travel from all over the world to see us perform in Dublin. Most of them believe it's the best gig for them to attend."

Dublin's Crown Court also shut down jury deliberations over the weekend as too many jurors had tickets to the see the Irish band perform, according to AP.

U2 wowed their hometown fans with a set that fused songs from latest album 'No Line On The Horizon' and their greatest hits as they kicked off the residency on Friday,.

The group's stage set, which boasts an innovative 360° spider design, also provided a spectacle for fans at Croke Park.

The 360 tour continues tonight (July 27) in Dublin before heading to Gothenburg, Sweden on July 31.
