Glasvegas To Record Second Album 'Waltons-Style' In Los AngelesJuly 23, 2009
Glasvegas frontman James Allan has revealed the band plan to record their second album in America.
The singer said he had already written the lyrics to the follow-up to their Mercury Prize nominated self-entitled 2008 debut album. But recording won't begin on the project until the completion of the Scottish band's US support tour with Kings of Leon this autumn. "We're touring with U2 in summer, then Kings of Leon in America, then I'm going to stay in Los Angeles,” Allan told BBC 6 Music. "Going to put down the demos, got to buy a house, the band are coming over, we'll be like The Waltons." "We'll do the demos and then we'll just record at Christmas-time or early January." He added: "Hopefully by the time the leaves are grown on the trees and the daffodils are starting to bloom, that's when out second child will be born." As previously reported, Glasvegas are among 12 acts nominated for this year's Mercury Prize. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Glasvegas Join iTunes Festival 2011 Line-Up (07.04.2011)
