Disturbed: 'The Grammy Awards Neglect Rock Music'February 10, 2009
Disturbed singer David Drainman believes that hard rock music is under-represented at The Grammy Awards.
Metallica scooped the Best Metal Performance at the ceremony on Sunday night, but other than this Drainman believes the heavier side of rock music isn't catered for. Acts included Coldplay and John Mayer both scooped 'rock' awards at The Staples Center bash. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Drainman complained: “I don’t think they give rock its fair share by any stretch of the imagination, and the truth is that they’re really neglecting a big part of the Grammy constituents. “The majority of the country states that are red, they’re either fans of country or fans of rock so there certainly needs to be better representation for our genre. We’ll continue to fight the good fight.” (by Scott Colothan) See also: Grammy Awards 2011: Nominations List (02.12.2010)
