Travis Barker: I Should Be Compensated For Plane CrashNovember 25, 2008
Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has said he believes it's fair to seek compensation following his recent plane crash.
Barker and his musical partner DJ AM were the only two survivors after their Learjet careered off a runway in South Carolina last September. The crash killed the drummer's assistant, Chris Baker, and bodyguard, Charles Still, as well as the aircraft's two pilots. Last Saturday, it was revealed that the drummer, who suffered burns in the incident, is seeking more than $25,000 in compensation from the companies linked to the plane. Speaking to E! Online, Barker said: "I wouldn't have been in the state I was in if I wasn't in the crash. I wouldn't have third degree burns all over my body or be prohibited to do certain things. “I can't go swimming. I can't do some of the things that normal people can do. "I didn't ask for that to happen. I just think positive. If something goes wrong that's not supposed to go wrong or you fall victim of it, I think you should be compensated. "I lost two friends in the accident. Nothing can bring them back or what I lost in the accident." In the lawsuit, Barker claims the plane’s owners Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and an airplane maintenance company, improperly operated and maintained the aircraft. Meanwhile, Still’s mother, Thelma Martin, is suing the companies for funeral expenses and loss of earnings. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Blink-182 Postpone UK And Ireland Tour Until 2012 (18.04.2011)
