Leona Lewis, Jay-Z And Beyonce To Perform For Barack Obama?

November 24, 2008
Leona Lewis, Jay-Z And Beyonce To Perform For Barack Obama?Leona Lewis, US rapper Jay-Z and Beyonce are all in talks to perform at president-elect Barack Obama's inauguration in January, according to reports.

The musicians, who all spoke in favour of Mr Obama during his campaign, would form the foundations of the ceremony in Washington DC.

A source told the Sun newspaper than an appearance at the event would be the “icing on the cake” for Lewis, who has enjoyed huge success in the US since winning The X Factor in 2006.

“Various inquiries have been made to Leona’s people about her availability on January 20th,” the source said. “Her team are going through her diary at the moment.

“They’re certainly not averse to shifting things around to accommodate any celebrations for Obama.”

Lewis, from East London, spoke out for Mr Obama a day before his US election victory, calling the Democrat “amazing”.

Husband and wife Jay-Z and Beyonce, meanwhile, endorsed Mr Obama's bid to become America's first black President early on in his campaign.
