Dan le Sac: 'We Had To Give Radiohead Our Soul'July 21, 2008
Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip have revealed to just what extent they had to go to be able to use a Radiohead sample in one of their songs.
'Letter From God To Man' borrows a refrain from 'Planet Telex', which featured on Radiohead's second album 'The Bends'. Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Dan Le Sac said: "I had to give them my soul. They keep it in a glass jar and Thom Yorke sits and looks at it." Le Sac said the duo had been “quite devious and used everyone we knew” in their attempts to clear the sample for use on the single, which is released next Monday (July 28th). "We knew Rob da Bank was seeing one of their producers so we made sure he had a copy,” he said. “Then we got this message saying they're going to have a listen to it." Although Radiohead haven't personally told the duo what they think of the song, Le Sac revealed that they were given a guest list for Radiohead's recent show at Victoria Park in London. “So they must love us,” he said. “That's got to be good feedback."
