Glasvegas Respond To James Allan Overdose ReportsMarch 8, 2011
Glasvegas have responded to reports in a tabloid newspaper that singer James Allan suffered an overdose two years ago.
On Tuesday (March 8), Allan was quoted by The Sun as saying that the real reason the band cancelled several US tour dates in 2009 was due to him taking a drugs overdose. At the time, the dates were axed so Allan could recover from what his record label said was "exhaustion and dehydration". But he told the paper: "It's funny the fancy names people come up with when somebody has an overdose." Responding to the story, Glasvegas issued a statement on their Twitter page assuring fans that they were “well looked after and looking after ourselves.” The statement added: “The Sun story was a long time ago! (circa 2009!).” Glasvegas release their new album ‘Euphoric///Heartbreak\\\’ next month. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Glasvegas Join iTunes Festival 2011 Line-Up (07.04.2011)
