Pete Doherty To Join The Who's Roger DaltreyDecember 5, 2008
Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty is to join The Who for a one off charity concert, according to reports.
The singer will apparently perform the veteran band's songs alongside singer Roger Daltrey at the Bristol Academy on January 12th in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Daltrey, a patron for the charity, is reported to have asked Doherty to appear after he attended the funeral of cancer sufferer and Babyshambles fan Daniel Squires in July. “Roger was really impressed and touched when Pete performed for Daniel,” a source told the Sun newspaper. “He has told Pete to choose a list of Who songs and they will perform them together. They are both really excited.” As previously reported, Doherty is currently working on a solo album which is scheduled to be released in the new year.
