The Vines are an Australian alternative rock band originally formed as Rishikesh in 1994 in Sydney. They play a musical hybrid of 1960s rock and 1990s alternative music. Since 2006 their line-up has consisted of vocalist and lead guitarist Craig Nicholls, rhythm guitarist Ryan Griffiths, bass guitarist Brad Heald and drummer Hamish Rosser.

The Vines have revealed details of their new album, set for release in April. The follow-up to 2008's 'Melodia', entitled 'Future Primitive', was recorded in Paris with Wolf & Cub producer Chris Colonna, Triple J radio station reports. Read more

The Vines have been forced to cancel a string of tour dates due to their singer's ongoing battle with Asperger's Syndrome. “Craig Nicholls’ mental condition has deteriorated extremely rapidly over the past month to the point where he requires immediate help over an extended period of time,” the band said in a statement.
