Rolling Stones Songs To Become Housing Estate Street NamesDecember 12, 2008
Some of the Rolling Stones most revered song titles are to be used in street names on a new housing estate in Dartford, Kent.
All 13 streets on the £400million project will bear the name of the band's music in honour of frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richard, who both grew up in the town. Suggested streets names so far include Satisfaction Street, Angie Mews and Ruby Tuesday Drive. Senior Kent councillors are expected to approve the proposal today, according to the Sun newspaper. Local resident Julia Swan, 34, said she thought the streets names were a “great idea”, adding: “We could do with a bit of satisfaction around here.” But police have apparently warned that the signs may be stolen by fans of the band. Dartford already boasts a Mick Jagger Centre in tribute to the singer. (by Jason Gregory) See also: The Rolling Stones 'Have No Firm Plans To Tour' (02.02.2011)
