September 13, 2010
Killers' Brandon Flowers Scores First Solo Number One UK AlbumThe Killers Brandon Flowers' debut solo album has gone straight in at number one on the UK album chart.

'Flamingo' held off competition from Mercury Prize winners The xx to top the countdown.

The London group's self-titled debut climbed from number 16 to three following their win last week.

Several other nominated artists also saw sales rise, according to The Official Charts Company.

Elsewhere, Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' fell to number two, while Hurts were a new entry at number four with their debut album 'Happiness'.

Stone Sour scored their highest UK album chart standing to date with 'Audio Secrecy' charting at number six.

There were three other new entries in this week’s Top-10, including The Script’s 'For The First' at number five.
