Brian Jonestown Massacre Deny Knife Was Used In Backstage 'Horseplay'July 18, 2008
![]() Conflicting reports had claimed that guitarist Frankie Emerson had sustained a stab wound to his side during the incident, which involved frontman Anton Newcombe. The altercation at the Forum in Kentish Town came at the end of the band's UK tour. In a statement, the band denied any suggestion that a knife was involved, saying that Emerson's cuts were “caused by some glass splinters.” “Frankie Emerson injuries were superficial to his arm & stomach, he was treated at the Royal Free Hospital in London,” they said. “These injuries were caused by horseplay by the band in their own changing room after the gig.” Newcombe, who has a history of unpredictability both on and off stage, was arrested and questioned by police but released with no charge or caution. Brian Jonestown Massacre are scheduled to continue their European tour. (by Jason Gregory) See also: |
