Rio Ferdinand: 'I Want To Join Snoop Dogg On Coronation Street'

Footballer Rio Ferdinand has revealed he wants to make a cameo appearance on Coronation Street.

The Manchester United defender said he was keen to appear on the show after rapper Snoop Dogg also expressed interest.

The rapper said last week he was a big fan of the show and had followed it regularly for 11 years.

"I wouldn't mind getting hold of that David Platt,” Ferdinand told The Sun. "He is too naughty.

“I would come in and be the hard taskmaster and tell him to leave that Tina alone. Then hopefully he would stop picking on people."

As previously reported, Snoop Dogg said that his agent had contacted the show's producers about a possible cameo.

But production company Granada TV denied they had received an approach from the star.

Coronation Street is currently celebrating it's 50th anniversary.
