Rolling Stones Beating Faithless In UK Album Chart BattleMay 19, 2010
The Rolling Stones are on course to top the UK album chart with their reissued edition of ‘Exile On Main Street’.
The 1972 album, which has been re-released with additional material, is outselling nearest rival ‘The Dance’ by Faithless by 1,600 copies. If successful, ‘Exile On Main Street’ will join a select club of reissued albums to top the album chart. Other notable members include T Rex’s first two albums from 1968, which both reached number one in 1972 as a double-package. According to Music Week, the third spot is currently inhabited by LCD Soundsystem’s new album ‘This Is Happening’. Keane are currently in pole position with ‘Night Train’, which became their fourth consecutive number one album on Sunday. Meanwhile, rapper B.o.B is on course to top the UK singles chart with ‘Nothin’ On You’. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Faithless To Broadcast Final Gig In Cinemas (23.03.2011)
