Placebo are an alternative rock band formed in London in 1994, currently consisting of Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Steve Forrest. To date, they have released six studio albums, six EPs and twenty-nine singles. The band have gained a considerable amount of international recognition, selling over one million albums in the UK and over ten million worldwide.

Placebo have announced details of a one-off gig in London next month. The band are set to play Brixton Academy on September 27 to mark the release of their album ‘Battle For The Sun: Redux Edition’. Read more

Placebo are giving away a free Tour Bundle of songs ahead of their live dates in the UK and Ireland. The bundle features their own song 'Breathe Underwater' live from Pukklepop in the summer, plus tracks by their support acts on the European jaunt The Horrors, Expatriate, Silversun Pickups and United. Brian Molko, vocalist and guitarist of Placebo, collapsed on stage whilst the band were playing a set on Sunday at Japan's 'Summer Sonic' festival. A virus and jet lag were blamed by the band in a statement that was published earlier on their website. Read more

Placebo stormed off stage at RockNess Festival in Scotland last night after a reveller allegedly threw a pair of scissors at them. Angry singer Brian Molko left the stage after being pelted during their fourth song 'For What It's Worth', saying “"My safetly cannot be guaranteed so I'm leaving." Read more

Placebo are to play a UK and Ireland arena tour, which gets under way in Birmingham on December, 8. The rock band will also perform at London's O2 Arena and the SECC in Glasgow during the five-date winter trip. Read more
