Professor Green's Attacker Recieves Eight-Year Prison Sentence

Professor Green's attacker has received an eight-year prison sentence, it has been reported.

Anthony Jones, 25 , was found guilty of GBH with intent and will now serve a minimum of four years.

Jones attacked Professor Green, real name Stephen Manderson, with a bottle which left him with a 15 inch scar, outside a nightclub in May 2009.

"I nearly lost my life and I was in a position where I stood to lose everything if I don't go to court," Green told BBC Newsbeat.

About appearing as a witness in the trial he added: "It wasn't like I was snitching because I wasn't taking anything off my shoulders and putting it on someone else's but at the same time there was something morally correct to do."

Professor Green has announced details of a one-of gig in London next month.
