Eunice Kathleen Waymon (February 21, 1933 – April 21, 2003), also known by her stage name Nina Simone (/ˈniːnə sɨˈmoʊn/), was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, and civil rights activist widely associated with jazz music.
