Michael Jackson Vienna Tribute Concert Moved To LondonSeptember 11, 2009
A tribute concert for Michael Jackson due to take place in Vienna this month has been moved to London next June.
The decision comes after a number of artists, including Chris Brown and Mary J Blige, were forced to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. Vienna event promoter Georg Kindel told reporters: "Maybe we underestimated these issues." According to the Associated Press news agency, a London venue has yet to be confirmed, although the gig is scheduled for the first half of June 2010. The tribute concert was due to take place at Vienna's former imperial Schoenbrunn Palace on September 26. The late singer's brother Jermaine announced artists who would be appearing at the event during press conferences in London and Berlin earlier this week. But the likes of Brown, Blige and other acts, including Natalie Cole, were forced to drop out. 65,000 fans were expected to attend the concert in Vienna, with tickets selling for hundreds of pounds. Jackson died on June 25 at his rented home in Los Angeles of acute Propofol intoxication. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Michael Jackson Heal The World Lawsuit Resolved (20.04.2011)
