Massive Attack is a collaborative music production duo from Bristol. Working with co-producers, as well as various session musicians and guest vocalists, they make records and tour live. The duo are considered to be progenitors of the trip hop genre.

Bristol has been crowned the “most musical city” in the UK following a survey by the Performing Rights Society (PRS for Music). The city, which has spawned acts including Portishead, Massive Attack, F*ck Buttons and Tricky, came out ahead of cities such as Cardiff, Glasgow and Manchester. Read more

Massive Attack have unveiled full details of their fifth studio album. Titled 'Heligoland' the long-player is released on February 8 and features guest vocalists Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey, Tunde Adebimpe and long-time cohort Horace Andy. Read more

Massive Attack have hailed Damon Albarn as an “absolute genius” after collaborating with him on their upcoming new album. The trip-hop duo have drafted in an array of guest stars for their as-yet-untitled fifth album, set for release in February 2010, including Faith No More's Mike Patton, Phantom Limb's Yolanda Quarty, Fredo Viola and Beth Orton.
