M.I.A Ends Big Chill Headline Slot Early After Stage InvasionAugust 9, 2010
M.I.A was forced to end her headline slot at this weekend’s Big Chill festival after a stage invasion.
The singer asked fans to join her on stage during her hit ‘Paper Planes’. But rather than a small number, up to 200 festival-goers accepted the offer, according to BBC News. Big Chill organisers said: “A spokesperson for MIA thanked the wonderful audience at the Big Chill for the fantastic reception received and apologised for having to cut the set short due to overwhelming demand for fans to come on stage when only a few were expected." The festival in Herefordshire has also seen performances from Thom Yorke, Massive Attack, Plan B and Roots Manuva. (by Jason Gregory) See also: M.I.A Recording New Album With Chris Brown (22.04.2011)
