Kinks' Ray Davies To Write Album With Razorlight, Snow Patrol And Chuck BerryNovember 5, 2008
The Kinks' frontman Ray Davies has said he is hoping to write an album with Razorlight's Johnny Borrell and members of Snow Patrol.
The collaborative album would also feature Chuck Berry and a host of unknown artists, the singer told the BBC. "I don't just want to do usual suspects. I'd love to do something with Johnny, but I'd like to find new bands. Unsigned even. I usually like the underdogs,” he said. Davies added that with a mixture of Snow Patrol and Chuck Berry, “it should be an interesting record." The singer also spoke about the possibility of a Kinks reunion, saying the band were writing again. Davies said that they had started “a little bit of this and that” but wouldn't be drawn on the new material's quality. "It depends if there's good music. We want good new music. I'd like to do it as a more collaborative thing than we used to do,” he said. Davies first hinted at a possible reunion in September, saying it would hang on whether his brother, Dave, signed up. Dave Davies suffered a stroke in 2004 but is currently in good health, according to his brother. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Razorlight, Mark Ronson For Shakedown Festival 2011 (12.04.2011)
