Jamiroquai: 'Lady Gaga Is A Money-Making Freak'

November 5, 2010
Jamiroquai: 'Lady Gaga Is A Money-Making Freak'Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay has criticised Lady Gaga after the singer wore a meat dress to a recent awards ceremony.

The star came under fire when she sported the raw meat design to the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

In an interview with The Sun, Jay Kay claimed Lady Gaga was just being used as a marketing tool for her record label.

"Lady Gaga is a money-making freak for her label,” he told The Sun. "We are not like that. We do music, not marketing. Lady GaGa is obviously a phenomenon.

"The world loves a freak. If the record companies see that they can make money with them, they will do anything.”

He added: "Don't worry, next time we'll come dressed in asparagus. And with tomatoes too."

Jay Kay’s comments come just days after he also hit out at X Factor judges Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole.

Meanwhile, Jamiroquai previewed songs from his new album ‘Rock Dust Light Star’ at an intimate gig in North London last night (November 4).

The concert, which was broadcast live on BBC Radio 2, also featured classic tracks ‘Little L’ and ‘Love Foolosophy’.

You can listen again to the performance now at bbc.co.uk/radio2.
