Deftones' Bassist Chi Cheng Seriously Injured In Car Crash

Deftones' bassist Chi Cheng has been seriously injured in a car crash in California.

The band's frontman, Chino Moreno, said Cheng was in a “serious but stable” condition in hospital.

He added: "I'm praying that his strength will get him through this."

The singer declined to detail the extent of Cheng's injuries but Billboard magazine report that the bassist is currently in a coma.

The crash is understood to have happened in the Santa Clara area of San Jose.

The Grammy Award winning band, who formed 20 years ago, have been recording their sixth studio album, 'Eros', which is due out next April.
