Pink Floyd Surprise Reunion Gig Was 'Magic'July 14, 2010
The organiser of a charity event which featured a surprise Pink Floyd reunion gig has described their performance as “magic”.
David Gilmour and Roger Waters treated guests at the Hoping For Palestine charity gala in Oxfordshire on Saturday to a four-song set. It marked the first time the former bandmates had played together since Live 8 in 2005. Co-organiser Bella Freud told Rolling Stone: "David arrived first and then Roger came on and I saw Roger give David a hug. "It was really lovely." The pair were only originally meant to play three songs, but British financier Arpad Busson bid £50,000 for them to perform 'Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2.'. "Some other people were also saying they'd give £200,000 for them to play one more song," Freud said. "People were crying - really! I know it sounds corny, but it was magic. David and Roger - they looked so happy up there and they made something so beautiful happen." The reunion came just months after Waters said that the band's Live 8 performance was “probably” their last together. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Pink Floyd To Reunite? (21.03.2011)
