I woke up in a Lego bedroom
Sleeping in my burlap sack
And all the mosquitos know I love you
Can I love me just as much
And I had breakfast with my shadow
We had quite the discussion
Can you fall in love with the things you only know the things you may never touch?

My day at work was just like it always is
The same old same old
I appreciate the opportunity over and over
But I had supper with my shadow
And we had quite the discussion
If I truly believe that things can change will I wake up to something different?

. . .

I'm alone, I'm alone at a party
In a ghost town, yeah
Are you there, are you there anybody?
'Cause I feel a bit down, yeah

There is God, there is God in the secrets that you tell me
Truth has a beautiful sound, yeah
We will get, we will get what we're deserving
'Cause it all comes around, yeah

I'm alone, I'm alone at a party
In a ghost town, yeah
Are you there, are you there anybody?
'Cause I feel a bit down, yeah

There is God, there is God in the secrets that you tell me
Truth has a beautiful sound, yeah
We will get, we will get what we're deserving
'Cause it all comes around, yeah

There is hope, there is hope in the worms and the maggots
'Cause they're breaking it down, yeah

There is love, there is love in the things that you're seeking
And the things that you've found

I'm alone, I'm alone at a party
In a ghost town, yeah

The Princess Bride

I wanted to take you to prom in my ice cream truck
You made me feel twenty feet tall but I couldn't stand up

Was I just your car crash
A scribbled note in your ten year old journal
Will you think of me when you're watching
Your nbc sitcoms
Or the sunday night movie

As long as you're happy
As long as you're happy

Now you are painted fingernails and tampons
And I am one feathered wing and one naked arm

Was I just your stunt man
A temporary stand-in for your Hollywood superman
Will you think of me when you're writing
Your annual christmas letters
An update of the family

As long as you're happy
As long as you're happy

You kiss so deep
I could taste you in my toes
Now you're so far I wouldn't even know how to say hello

Was I just your car crash
A scribbled note in your ten year old journal
Will you think of me when you're watching
Your nbc sitcoms
Or the sunday night movie
Was I just your stunt man
A temporary stand-in for your Hollywood superman
Will you think of me when you're writing your annual christmas letters
An update of the family

As long as you're happy
As long as you're happy.

Last night I was looking for some romance
I went to a square dance feeling like a circle
But did you see my mom last night?
She was so dang pretty

I ended up in a corn field,
Skeeters on my toe nails
‘Til the cows came back from their bleeding
Did you see my dad last night?
He was so dang witty

And love scares me
Like chandeliers
Pretty shards of glass
To clean my ears

Hanging from a single wire
Waiting for the plaster to crack
Hanging from a single wire
Waiting for the plaster to crack
Hanging from a single, hanging from a single, single…

I’m always dumbing up the smart things
And smarting up the dumb things
And knottin’ up my shoe strings
And messing up the good things
But did you see the stars last night?
Punctuation for a perfect poem and

Tearin’ down your walls
But I’m building up my walls
So no one knows no nothing,
No one knows no nothing
Did you see God last night?
An eighty-year-old on a red tricycle

I built the earth, I love you
Goddammit—I mean gosh darn
I built the earth, above you
Goddamn, gosh darn

And you can’t take this away
You can’t take this away
You can’t take this away

And love scares me
Like chandeliers
Pretty shards of glass
To clean my ears

Hanging from a single wire
Waiting for the plaster to crack
Hanging from a single wire
Waiting for the plaster to crack
Hanging from a single, hanging from a single, single…

I've got a broken wing and a grappling hook and I, I won't give up
Seven days ago the Earth could have eaten me but, I'm still alive (x7)

. . .

I've been seeing lights inside my head
I'm not broken, I am fixed again
Will you love me through these changes?
'Cause I can't make them go away

And Hell is the fear of pain
While Heaven is the faith that things will be okay
And all your life you've been waiting for someone to hold you like the day you were born
To look into those eyes and know that we are all the same

And you're so beautiful in every way
And fuck 'em, Lucy
But I'm drunk again
I'll be okay...

I'm climbing to the Sun on a cobweb made of tinker'toys
I'm dressed in Sunday's best
I'll see you soon

Where did you go?
Where did you go?
Where did you go?
Beautiful, beautiful

I'm halfway to the Sun
There are ghosts all around me
And I see your face in the Sun
The light at the end of the tunnel

Where are you going?...
Don't go, don't go, don't go

I Finally reached the Sun
Oh my son, you are beautiful
I'm so tired
Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep

Where did you go?
Where did you go?
Where did you go?
Beautiful, beautiful

. . .

These moments are brief
When you can truly say you know yourself
You must lose your mind in order for to find it
And sometimes you've just got to fall
So you can see the bottom
Or you'll never know what's holding you up

And this life feels like a dream to me
It's beautiful and it's twisted
But for right now, I don't want to wake up

So I guess this dream is for me
I guess this dream is for me

I'd tell you the truth
But my angle's always changing
I'd point the right way
But I don't think there's any such thing
I like to think that it really doesn't matter where you're going or where you're from
The truth is always moving
And it's always where you're standing
We may disagree but no one's wrong

So I guess this dream is for me
And I guess this dream is for me

I lost my way
When I was taught to follow the others
And I lost my mind
When I believed in the truth of my brothers
I believed those who told me I have to die to see Heaven
And those who said Heaven's inside me

It's beautiful that we all see it just a little different
We're the lead role in our own dream

And I guess this dream's for me
And I guess this dream is for me
I guess this dream is for me
I guess this dream is for me
