Them Crooked Vultures 'To Support Arctic Monkeys At Brixton Tonight'August 26, 2009
Rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures are supporting Arctic Monkeys at their one-off album launch show at Brixton Academy tonight, it's strongly rumoured.
The Monkeys' support act has been billed as 'very special guests', but Gigwise has heard on the rumour mill that Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones will be opening at around 7.30pm. Josh Homme, of course, produced the vast majority of Arctic Monkeys' new album 'Humbug' and is close friends with the band. Them Crooked Vultures are already in Europe and have performed surprise festival shows at Lowlands in Holland and Pukkelpop in Belgium over the past week. There is also growing speculation on forums that Them Crooked Vultures will be playing secret slots at the Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend.
