Beyonce To Play Soul Legend In New Hollywood FilmFebruary 20, 2008
Beyonce Knowles is to play soul legend Etta James in the new Hollywood movie Cadillac Records.
The singer will also co-produce the film, which is about the music business in the 1950s, according to reports. To many, James is best known for singing the infamous Muddy Waters song, ‘I Just Want To Make Love To You’. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cadillac Records will show the lives of recording artists, including, Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry, who were signed to Chicago record label Chess. Hollywood actor Adrien Brody will play the label’s founder, Leonard Chess, while Beyonce will also record four songs for the soundtrack. Since Destiny's Child, the singer has gone on to pick up a number of accolades, including a Grammy nomination, for her work in film.
