Spiritualized have announced details of a UK and Ireland tour, set to take place in October.

The band will play a total of five dates across the UK in the run up to their Royal Albert Hall gig on October 11.

Spiritualized are currently recording their new album, which is due to be released this autumn, and is set to be showcased at the gig, according to a statement from their record label.

The album will be the follow-up to the band's critically-acclaimed 2008 album 'Songs in A&E'.

Tickets go on sale on Friday (April 1) at 9am.

Spiritualized's tour dates are:

• Leamington Spa Assembly - October 5
• Edinburgh Queen's Hall - 6
• Dublin Vicar Street - 7
• Manchester Academy - 8
• Bristol O2 Academy - 9
• London Royal Albert Hall - 11
