Foo Fighters Showcase New Album At London Wembley Arena GigFebruary 26, 2011
Foo Fighters previewed songs from their forthcoming new album at a one-off gig in London tonight (February 25).
The band thrilled a sold out crowd at NME's Big Gig at Wembley Arena, which also featured sets from No Age, Band Of Horses and Cee Lo Green. Playing their first official gig in two years, Foo Fighters played a number of songs from new album, 'Wasted Light'. "You guys realise this is like out first f*cking show in two years," singer Dave Grohl said. "It's nice to say we're back. "You guys know we've got a new record coming out in a month and a half? There's some songs we'd like to play you off it." The band then launched into new single 'Rope'. Other new songs included ‘White Limo’ and 'These Days'. Elsewhere, Foo Fighters' 18-song set relied heavily on hits from their extensive back catalogue. 'Monkey Wrench', 'Generator', 'All My Life' and 'Pretender' all attracted huge crowd sing-alongs. The band were relentless throughout, but Grohl did pause at one point to thank the London audience for "always being so f*cking good to use". Foo Fighters concluded their set with a raucous four-song encore that culminated in ‘Best Of You’. Foo Fighters set list:
