Adele has covered a song by Cheryl Cole during an appearance on BBC Radio 1 today (January 27).

The singer performed 'Promise This' as part of a six-song set on the Live Lounge.

Explaining her reasons for covering Cole's song, Adele said: “I love her. She's my favourite person ever.

“I got to meet her at the Royal Variety and Dappy from N-Dubz was next to her. It was amazing, like living a dream.”

The singer also performed her new single 'Rolling In The Deep', taken from her new album '21', as well as hits 'Chasing Pavements' and 'Hometown Glory'

'21' is on course to top the UK album chart this weekend, while Adele's debut '19' is also expected to climb back up into the top-5.
