The singer, who released her new album '21' this week, met the rapper at the Grammy Awards in 2009.

In an interview with Q magazine, Adele said the introduction was just one of a series of “weird” meetings that occurred during the ceremony.

"I was in the hallway waiting to go in and Paul McCartney kept walking past,” she said.

"Standing in a queue with Jay-Z, Kanye and will.i.am... It was like an actual dream. I felt so out of place. [Jay-Z smells] delicious. He smells like money!"

'21', which is Adele's second album, is widely expected to top the UK album chart this weekend.
