Nicki Minaj was chased by police as she visited a series of famous landmarks during a late night tour of London at the weekend.

The US rapper, who is in the UK on a promotional tour, was confronted by officers as she posed for a picture outside Buckingham Palace.

In a message on Twitter, Minaj said: "Trying to take a picture by the Buckingham Palace.

“Got chased by the police the 1st time but the paps helped us get pics from a different angle of the palace. Lmaoooooooooo. #moment4life.”

The rapper was accompanied on the tour by BBC Radio 1xtra DJ Tim Westwood.

Minaj's brief visit to the UK has not been without its drama.

She caused hysteria ahead of her arrival at Heathrow last week after tweeting her landing time and was also apparently thrown out of her hotel.
