Beastie Boys star Adam Yauch has moved to clarify reports that he is cancer free.

The musician was diagnosed with cancer of the preaortic gland and lymph node two years ago.

Earlier this week, a report on UK radio suggested he had been given the all-clear.

But in a statement, Yauch said the reports had been “exaggerated” and that he was still receiving treatment.

He added that he was “staying optimistic” that he would be cancer free in the “near future”.

Meanwhile, Beastie Boys release their new album 'Hot Sauce Committee Pt 2' in the coming months.
