X Factor's Matt Cardle, Take That Retain Christmas Number OnesDecember 27, 2010
X Factor winner Matt Cardle has retained his position at the top of the UK singles chart.
The singer’s single ‘When We Collide’, a cover of Biffy Clyro’s ‘Many Of Horror’, sold over 300,000 copies in its second week. The track has now shifted over 740,000 copies in just two weeks. It is also the second biggest-selling single of the year behind Eminem’s Rihanna-featuring track ‘Love The Way You Lie’. Rihanna was at number two with ‘What's My Name’, featuring Drake, and ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’ by Black Eyed Peas, was at number three. Katy B's ‘Lights On’ was a new entry at number four, according to the Official Charts Company. Meanwhile, in the album chart, Take That remained at number one for a sixth week with ‘Progress’.
