Eminem is left injured in a fake car crash staged to promote his appearance at this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

The rapper is seen limping from a car which then exlodes behind him in the promo advert.

He is then surrounded by a group of followers, who walk with him to this year's host city, Los Angeles.

Eminem has been nominated for eight awards, including Video Of The Year, and is also due to perform at the ceremony on September 12.

Lady Gaga leads the field with a record-breaking 13 nominations, including Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Dance Music Video.

Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Florence & The Machine are also expected to perform at the event.
